Visiting Razavi Holy Shrine, the Canadian lady converted to Islam and became a Shi’ite Muslim.
Getting familiar with the fundamental principles of Islam, accepting the oneness of God, and prophecy of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) at the non-Iranian pilgrims’ affairs office of Imam Reza holy shrine, the Canadian Muslim convert had her profession of faith in English and Arabic and became a Shi’ite Muslim.
Expressing her happiness on this action, Melissa Neding announced, “I thank God for the opportunity which I had at this stage of my life to get familiar with Islam and to join to the group of Shi’ite Muslims”.
“Islam is the religion of peace and kindness. This shows the proper way of life and I have received this fact internally”, she stated.
This Muslim convert said, “I feel happiness because I was born in this spiritual place once more. To know things better, I always researched. I chose Islam with complete awareness and I want to introduce it to my family as well”.
She emphasized, “In addition to keep her safe from the damages, Muslim woman’s veil protects her nobility and dignity”
At the end of this ceremony, a copy of Holy Qur’an in English, some books and also other cultural gifts were awarded to this new Muslim by the management of non-Iranian pilgrims’ affairs of Astan Quds Razavi.
In this ceremony, the manager of non-Iranian pilgrims’ affairs of Astan Quds Razavi referred to the spiritual status of Razavi Shrine and stressed, “Here, angels carpet their wings, to show respect, under the feet of those coming to visit the Holy Shrine”.
“Each of our Imams (A’) is famous for one of the characters of Allah and Imam Reza (A’) is the manifestation of Allah’s graciousness and affection. Of course, all Imams (A’) represent this characteristic but Imam Reza (A’) depict it more than other purified Imams (A’)”, Seyyed Javan Hashemi Nejad said.
He added, “Millions of pilgrims and devotees come, from different parts of the world annually, to visit Razavi Holy Shrine and this management provides these pilgrims with various programs based on their nationalities”.
Emphasizing on Astan Quds Razavi’s experiences of serving pilgrims for many years, Hashemi Nejad said, “This holy place is now considered as one of the most important cultural centers of the Islamic world”. He also said, “Razavi Holy Shrine’s pilgrims at the management of non-Iranian pilgrims’ affairs offer their programs both in person and through the internet.
These services are offered in Arabic, English, Urdu, Turkish, Russian, German, and French”.
